What to Do in a Crisis Situation

Emergencies happen when we least expect them. Crisis situations such as a fall, accident, urgent healthcare need, or abrupt trauma can cause families to experience heightened anxiety and stress.

It is hard to stay calm, think clearly, and make appropriate, educated decisions during a crisis. Often the lack of resources, distance between family members, and other unfortunate circumstances can lead to lengthened hospital stays, confusion surrounding medical care and advice, and misguided information on insurance coverage for needed care.

During such situations a care manager will be there to support, guide, and educate a family on their resources and care options; helping to minimize trauma, decrease financial burden, analyze medical advice and make sure a local advocate is overseeing your loved one’s care.
